This composition of whales was created by carving a natural linoleum block and hand printing it onto traditional papers using rich-colored navy-blue non-toxic ink. This is an original piece of art made in an edition of 30 total prints. After I finish printing the 30 pieces, I damage the carved block to make sure there is no way to produce more original prints. Print comes signed, numbered, and titled.

Variations:
Traditional Printmaking paper - this variation was hand printed onto 30 gsm kitakata paper, a thin but strong traditional Japanese paper made from Phillipine gampi. This paper has a naturally warm tone and a subtle translucency. The printed area measures 14 9/16” x 10 ½” and the paper is sized to 16" x 20", making this print easy to fit in a standard-sized 16” x 20” frame without any matting or resizing. Please note this print does not come with a frame, matting or backing board. It will be gently rolled up and mailed in a shipping tube via first-class mail. 
 
Western Printmaking Paper- this variation was hand printed onto 120 gsm Strathmore printmaking paper. This paper is naturally white and less warm-toned than the kitakata paper. It also has a bit more weight making it more opaque. The printed area measures 14 9/16” x 10 ½” and the paper is cut to 12” x 18”. This print comes matted with a single custom-cut blue/grey matt (outside dimensions measuring 16”x 20”) making this piece ready to put into a standard sized 16” x 20” frame. Please note this print does not come with a frame. This piece will be shipped flat and protected with cardboard and a thick stay-flat envelope.
